i'm an official bum! but i'm definitely luuuurvin' it! TV all day. bonding moments with my baby love LEILA. pagsilbihan si "dynamic roberto" (yep that's what i call my dad now. hehe.) nang hindi naka-kunot ang noo. kain. tulog. kain. tulog. ang sarap ng buhay.
kaya nga nagulat na lang ako nung isang gabi na may nagtext sakin. inviting me for an initial screening at starbucks. i really wasn't expecting this na kasi my mindset is at AIG na talaga. i asked naman my mom and aloy kung pupuntahan ko pa, and they said yes. eh di go ako!
before i sleep, nag-iisip na ko ng mga possible questions that they might ask sa interview. what do you know about starbucks? why would you like to join starbucks? etc. etc. syempre ako isip ng isip ng script na medyo may dating diba? eh hindi ako maka-isip. eh di dinaan sa dasal. "Lord, kung para sakin toh thank you. kung hindi... sana para sakin na talaga toh!" tarush! :) tapos nyan derecho tulog na.
the next day punta na ko sa office nila. grabeh! ang HOT! 2pm interview ko so mga quarter to 1 umalis na ko ng bahay (assuming the traffic in makati). tunaw ang make-up ko. sabog buhok ko. jabar na kilikili ko. at muntik nang masira takong ko. kamusta naman diba? so pagdating ko sa office derecho ako sa comfort room at angayos at nagpatuyo ng pawis. ALIS HAGGARD kumbaga. at ayun na.
binigyan kami ng parang questionnaire. tapos andun yung mga tanong na nung gabi palang iniisp ko na. eh di sige sagot lang ng sagot. yung mga lecture sa school pinagsususulat ko dun. tapos basta, napuno ko naman isang bond paper (back to back ehem!) at 3 questions lang yun. hindi naman ako pa-bibo effect diba? tapos we went sa isang parang conference room wherein nandun lahat ng applicants. 7 yung batch namin. tapos super tahimik! as in! nakakbingi! feeling ko nga we were watched by some hidden camera eh. (big brother?) at mega make up pa ko sa harap nila? aba! mahirap nang magmukhang haggard noh! tapos sinusubukan din pala ang PATIENCE ng isang tao sa interview noh? takte 2pm na interview naging 3:30pm? pero okei lang, it was worth the wait.
the interview went well, get to know me ek-ek lang naman eh. funny though kasi wala akong baon na english nung araw na yun. so ganito ang naging speech ko...
"hi everyone. i'm melissa joy m. tabernilla. melai for short. i am a graduate from ust with a degree os BSC major in business administration. in my college years i didn't get any academic excellence awards or honors, all that i've got are those from dance and cheering competions. my fave starbucks coffee (oo kailangan mo sabihin yan!) is java chip frap. and i would just like to say... I REALLY REALLY WOULD LOVE TO WORK IN STARBUCKS! i... uhm... what else?? hhhmmmm.. DI KO NA KAYA! DUMUDUGO NA ILONG KO! maam pwede po ba magtagalog? hehehe.."
and that's it! nung hinayaan nya kong magtagalog ok na. she asked me about my experiences sa mcdo pati yung mga sacrifices ko at that time. (sabi ko nawalan ako ng social life) basta magaan yung feeling nung interview kasi napaka warm nung mukha nung hr. hehehe. at since napatawa ko naman sya at silang lahat, i think i did well. :)
after 30 mins. they gave each one of us a letter, dun na nakalagay kung passed or failed. syempre may trauma na ko sa mga ganyan dahil nung sa citigroup eh ganyan din at hindi ako natanggap. so hindi ko muna inopen yung akin. pagdating sa comfort room, kasama ko si cheng (new found friend ko dun!) and asked me anu daw nakalagay sakin. tapos ayun pag open nakalagay blah blah blah "we are impressed by your interview.." ayun! so i / we think we made it! hahaha. :) and it felt so great!
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE AND MORE! hindi pa sure yan kasi we have to undergo 2 interviews pa, one sa store manager and the other sa district manager. kaya hindi pa ko fully makatalon sa tuwa. but then i'm still praying na sana sakin nga toh! KAYA NGAYON IT WILL STILL BE A DREAM.. :)
